About Me
Where it started
I've always loved writing, but I've also always been practical. And what's the most practical profession? Healthcare. So, at the naive age of 18, I decided to go to physical therapy school. Then, I put my head down and didn't come up for air until a few years into clinical practice when I realized that maybe PT wasn't right for me.
Eventually, I worked up the courage to make a change. Luckily, my years as a PT had made me a skilled communicator, so the transition to copywriting and marketing wasn't a big stretch.
Where it's going
Now, I'd call myself a copywriter, editor, and marketing generalist (by necessity). Until now, most of my experience has been in-house at small start-ups, challenging me to embrace both B2B and B2C work. I've also gotten very comfortable writing for different audiences and adapting content for various channels, including email, SMS, direct mail, web copy, blogs, articles, white papers, case studies, social media, and more.
Jack of all trades, master of none, right? So, what's my niche? As a physical therapist, I'm a musculoskeletal health subject matter expert, giving me expertise and credibility in healthcare. I'm not ready to commit to only B2B or B2C at this point — I want to keep my options open. I do, however, know that I want to focus on honing my copywriting skills and grow into the talented communicator and wordsmith I'm destined to be.
The fun stuff
I live in Maine with my husband, beautiful daughter, and border collie. The photos I chose are of three of the most important places to me—places that shaped me and changed the course of my life. First is Boston, where I painstakingly grew from an immature kid into the self-confident and capable human I am now. Second is Hawaii, where I met the love of my life. Third is Maine, where I finally feel at home.
